Hmm...

Pretty good. Unfortunately I don't really know spanish. However, after the first time you yell "Diablo" it is calling for more of an umph. Other than that it was rather enjoyable. ^_^

Nashito responds:

Thx for the suggestions and review XD I'll make it better, next time!
[ By the way 8D I'm not spanish, but i know it D: ]

Hmm...

It's alright. I think the biggest turn off from this remake is that the off beat synth is a bit too overpowering. It really takes away from the rhythm. It gets better at :36 and forward, the beginning just needs to have that synth quieted in my opinion. Other than that it was pretty good. Well covered.

DJ-HappyFace responds:

Are you talking about the synth that has one defing note every once and a while, rigth at the start?

I think that's supposed to be a bell, but all the bell presets for FL 7 suck...alot.... So I had to find a good, echoy synth for it, but too powerful? I agree, Geuss I'll go turn it down a bit lol :)

Thannks for the review

Hmm..

I probably would have been much more impressed if this was you playing it. XD You hit the main guitar pretty well, very few off notes that I've found. However the rhythm guitar seems to be playing a bit off. Also, you should try adding in more instruments and do Eric Johnson proud. ^_^

Hmm...

I can't say it's the BEST song I've heard but I do enjoy it from a sense of nostalgia. The strings clash a bit in the beginning but I think I like that mostly because I grew up on SNES RPG's with that oh so required tower dungeon thing. XD If you're going for that old devilish creepiness sound then I think you've got it! I'd recommend throwing an organ of sorts in there though, that always amps up the creepy factor. All personal opinions mind you. ^_^ Keep workin' hard!!! ^_^

~Dylan ^_^

Dufanzy responds:

Thanks for the input. I did want it to seem very devilish and weird at first. The "clashing" is meant to be there. I wanted to let the 'thinness' of the texture make the chord kinda uncertain. The dissonance seems even creepier because it's just two notes only a half step apart, with nothing else to reference from, with only one single note before it. I would add an organ, and I may do so on another piece, but I wanted a string only piece, and, for some reason, felt this was the best. It was a decision made on the fly, but I like it. I think the organ will be used more for his failure later, to add in the anger of his own failure, on top of this and a lot else that happens in the story up to that point.

Again, thanks for the input. ^_^

Enjoyable!

Very well composed! I personally love the full orchestral sound and work within the same area. The biggest problem I found with this piece was the drumming. It was a bit too overpowering and emotionless throughout most the song. It would be perfect I think with a few expression changes and if you quieted it down a bit. I love the strings and other instruments though. The flute with the bassoon or clarinet or whatever in the beginning sounded beautiful. The big bang in the end was very nice as well. Like I said, my only suggestion would be to quiet the snare. Great work guys! Keep at it, I'll be keepin' my eyes open for more of your work!

~Dylan ^_^

BlazingDragon responds:

When you say the drumming, are you reffering to the snare or the hit? (The hit being the lower sounding drum) I did not think the snare was too overpowering, but I suppose I can see where you are coming from. At around 1:30, it is more loud than the winds, which was an unintentional mistake. We would change it, but we wrote this in the FL Studio demo and cannot go back and change anything. :(

Thank you for the helpful review, though. The flute/oboe section part at the beginning which was very fun to write.

Lol!

I enjoyed it! I love the old 8-bit sounds! You never hear any good ol' midi tracks anymore! XD Although, I got to tell you it's not the sound I expected from the title. I don't really get that sun rise and set feeling. Nor do I get that Fiddler On the Roof sound. XD (If you don't understand that comment just ignore it. ^_^) Great work bud!

~Dylan ^_^

BadCommandCo responds:

Thanks, but MIDI =/= 8bit.

^_^

I can only assume you had a bit of fun puting this one together. XD Lol, it's actually a rather enjoyable sound loop in my opinion! It, for some odd reason, makes me want to play Super Mario Bros. on the NES again! ^_^

~Dylan ^_^

It could be good!

I'm pretty sure this could be much better. From what I can make out it seems decently rhythmic and well composed. The biggest problem you seem to have right now is your recording equipment. I didn't mark you down on the voting for the equipment of course, 3/5, because believe me, I know how expensive good equipment is. It's just really hard to hear what's going on. As I said, this in no way affected the voting, I was just leavin' it in the review. ^_^ Keep at it!

~Dylan ^_^

cjwood responds:

i agree with you

Pretty good!

It's a great cover, really. The only problem I have personally with it is that the 1, 2, 3, 4 beats with the pluck sounds is a bit too distorted. Hey, but don't worry too much what the listeners think. Ever heard that saying, "Can't please 'em all"? Well at newgrounds you're lucky to please three people if there's no technotronic eletro whatever with a heavy beat. This is great work. ^_^ Keep at it! I'd love to hear an original at some point too. ^_^

~Dylan ^_^

Wound98Licker98 responds:

Lol, thanks man. Yeah, one thing I don't understand is I fixed it up a lot and my other 2 were scoring way better. 4.43 out of 5 and 4.31 maybe my version was better than what the people wanted. But than again my strongest votes were from those people and they probably haven't logged on, because I'm pretty sure I'd see a small surge of reviews and 5s. Maybe a couple of PMs here and there. Thanks for the kind words and in a way putting my mind at ease. And I'll definitely throw an original, either that or maybe a nice remix! o.0 Who knows? Keep in touch.

Hmm...

None too bad, the only problem I have is at certain points the sounds tend to clash without harmonizing with the other tracks. Also, it irritates me when people vote themselves a five, and since I'm the second viewer and it's at a five... well, "Gee, I wonder what happened". The effects were fun, but the sounds were just... I don't know really how to explain it... too... "synthed"? Anywho, keep writin', you can only get better. ^_^
~Dylan ^_^

InGenius responds:

Thanks for the review. At least you didn't 0 vote and then not leave one.

As for your points, I hear no clashing nor any bad notes, so I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about.

It irritates me when I get my first vote as a 0 fifteen seconds after uploading because someone downvoted the track without even listening HALFWAY through the track. Thanks.

It's electronic music. It's not meant to sound like grand pianos and acoustic guitars. It's meant to be "synthed".

Thanks for the review, though, again. It's still impressive whenever someone reviews after a downvote.

Hello everybody! Well, this is me! I'm a musician at heart and geek on a regular basis. I love videogames, I always will; you name a system I probably own it! I'm an actor and have played numerous roles. That's pretty much me in a nutshell! Boring, eh?^_^
